Why isn’t there a kitchen knife that’s as satisfying to look at as it is to use?

About Image

that question sparked nomi. looking around his kitchen, gabriel thought most tools were shaped by outdated, unimaginative design thinking.

founded in stockholm by food and design enthusiasts, nomi explores how design can be used to spark creativity, joy, and connection in and around the kitchen.

to us, cooking is a creative outlet. a cultural ritual. a way of bringing people together.

whether it’s baking bread, braising coq au vin, or making late-night quesadillas, sharing food turns the ordinary into something meaningful.

our first product, the nomi santoku, was crafted over two years. guided by scandinavian design principles and inspired by the clarity of mid-century modernism, it represents our belief in radical simplicity with a slice of surprise.

on our journey, we’ll continue to explore new knives, new tools, and new ways of making everyday cooking more beautiful and inspiring.
