That was the question that sparked Nomi. Looking around his kitchen, Gabrielt felt most of his tools were the result of outdated, unimaginative design thinking.
Nomi was founded by a small team of food and design enthusiasts in Stockholm. We’ve set out to create a new generation of kitchenware that sparks creativity, joy, and connection in and around the kitchen. Cooking to us is a creative outlet, a cultural ritual, and the perfect way to bring loved ones together. Whether it’s baking bread, braising coq au vin, or making late-night quesadillas, sharing food turns the ordinary into something meaningful. Every product we make is an invitation to cook more, share more, and live more thoughtfully.
In 2023, we began crafting our first knife, the Nomi Santoku. With Scandinavian design principles in our backbone and with inspiration from the clarity of mid-century modernism, our aesthetic champions radical simplicity, purpose, and a slice of surprise. After more than two years of development, we’re proud to present the Santoku as our first expression of that vision.
Our ambitions reach far and wide. As we grow, we’ll explore new knives, new tools, new ideas, and new ways of making everyday cooking more beautiful and inspiring. Right now we’re just a small team with a big idea, but if you believe in what we’re doing, we’d love to have you with us.
